About Me

★ My name is Smitten and I am a bookaholic ★

Hi all! Welcome to my Book Blog.

Dear readers, writers, bloggers and bookaholics,

Thank you for visiting my blog. I a self confessed reading addict.

A little about me:

  • I’m 27, I live in a little village in England.
  • I’m quite a typical British country girl.
  • I’m a photographer by day
  • I live with my boyfriend, who I’ve been with since I was 15.
  • I don’t have any children, but my babies are my horses and my English Cocker Spaniel.
  • I have a shoe obsession that is almost as critical as my book obsession.
  • I love milky tea, Instagram, music that makes me smile, UGGs, everything navy-blue, walking my dog, riding my ponies, frosty mornings and anything that sparkles.

But most importantly… I’m utterly addicted to romance novels!

Contemporary romance, hot-sexy-fan-yourself-steamy romance, heart wrenchingly emotional romance, YA romance, NA romance, romance mixed with action and drama… billionnaires, cowboys, bikers, fighers, badasses, soldiers, rockstars… if it has a handsome hero and a love story, I’m all in. Mostly. And if it’s got a little cherry on top in the form of some steamy book romps, I’m doubly in.

For me, reviewing is my way of purging. You know that God-awful, but strangely addictive book-hangover you get at the end of a great book or series? Reviewing is my way of releasing the tension. At the end of a book, my fingers itch to type out everything I felt whilst reading and I just have to get it all out. I was a total English Language and Literature geek at school, and I think my need to review a book stems from there. When I find a great book, I just have to shout about it and I have to analyse everything about it. And so, Smitten’s Book Blog is my way of doing that.

No, my real name isn’t Smitten. But that’s how I feel about the books I love. I get totally Smitten and fall head over heels in love pretty easily… so it felt appropriate.

So, that’s me. I hope you enjoy my musings and find them a little bit useful. I’d love to hear your recommendations for my never-ending TBR list, what you think of my reviews and your opinions on the books you’re reading, so please, comment away.

And don’t forget to stalk me. I love it when you do that. 😉

Dear Smitten, please consider reviewing Model Citizens, it’s a NA romantic drama that could have been written for you.

Model Citizens: Riding For A Fall is a romantic thriller about two models who blackmail their way to the top in Los Angeles. They’ve got it made, until the bad (boy) karma catches up with them.

Overnight, France’s Angela Durand and blonde Californian Joanne Hart become Super Models and global celebrities.

The LA high life is at their fingertips. Multi-million-dollar modelling contracts with fashion’s biggest names. Rich and famous lovers. Private jet travel. The best manager in the business.

    What could possibly go wrong?

Plenty. Including Joanne’s boyfriend, who is the greatest footballer in American history and a psychopath. As Brett Farrell’s life runs right off the rails in the week before Super Bowl 2009, his deranged and perverted behaviour threatens to destroy Joanne and Angela.

Set in the bright lights world of haute couture fashion, where nothing is ever quite what it appears to be, will the love and courage and of Model Citizens Modelling Agency owner Reggie Sinatra be able to save more than one of his star clients from the dark side?

Based on a true story, Model Citizens: Riding For A Fall is the unforgettable debut novel by Henry Pepper, a descendant of the British novelist and poet Sir Walter Scott.

Hi Smitten, great blog!! I have been uploading some bits and pieces from a book I am putting together and I was wandering if you might take a look at the snippets there. Each extract is only a thousand wordsish so not masses but I would really appreciate some honest feedback on the style from a fan of the genre.

    All the best! – https://showervoice.wordpress.com

Lost in the Moment by K. M. Nichols is set to release on November 25, 2015, but will soon be available for pre order on Kindle. I was lucky enough to read it since the author is an acquaintance and I must say, I am in love with the characters and the story. It’s about an average girl from a small town who moves to Los Angeles and ends up living down the street from a celebrity bad boy. It’s a great love story, I couldn’t decide whether to smile or cry, it definitely keeps the story going at a fast pace. A must read for anyone who enjoys these types of love stories. The rumor is it’s based on true events.
