Covered In Lace: The Lacey Sheridan Story by Ann Lister ✰✰✰✰✰

Rock queen, Lacey Sheridan, heads to the Berkshires for a summer spent recording a new studio album. The landlord of her lakeside cottage, Flynn Beckett, is a vision straight from one of her naughtiest sex dreams. She’s never worked this hard to interest a man, but there is something about Flynn that tells Lacey he’s worth it. After catching Flynn’s attention, Lacey taps into his secretive erotic side and they begin to play with a passion that could consume them both.

Meanwhile, a criminal roadie fresh out of prison, is ready to exact revenge on Lacey’s best friend, Annie Logan. His destructive trek north to carry out his plan has law enforcement racing from one crime scene to the next in hopes of catching him before he reaches the tiny lakeside town Lacey and Annie have been calling home. Neither Lacey, Annie or Flynn are aware of the approaching danger…until it is too late.

If you enjoyed reading, Sheet Music: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Love Story, you will love Lacey’s story. Another wild romp on and off the stage and in and out of bed, Lacey’s story will not disappoint.

My Casting

I read and enjoyed Ann Lister’s previous book, Sheet Music, so I jumped at the chance when she offered to send me Covered in Lace to review. And I’m so glad I did.

I remember feeling emotionally drained with Sheet Music. Soooo much happened in that book, I felt like I’d read an entire novel by just 20% in! I had emotionally whiplash and still, to this day, I think it’s the most jam packed novel I’ve ever read. It was a fantastic book, but exhausting at the same time, lol.

I mentally prepared myself for Covered in Lace to inflict the same kind of beating. But it didn’t. This book is a sequel to Sheet Music, although I also think it would work well as a stand alone. Sheet Music is Annie and Michael’s story, whereas Covered in Lace is the story of Lacey, Annie’s friend.

“I want to be covered, head-to-toe with nothing but you, Lace. Forever.”

It is so much less angsty and much more focused on one plot line, rather than going up and down, backwards and forwards and every other direction. However, there is a dark, twisted strain running through it and one very evil psychopath who raises his ugly, crazy head!

It’s insanely hot!!! The sex scenes are simply delicious, and there are a lot of them.

Lacey’s hand wiggled between their bodies and gripped the hard length of his erection through his shorts. He flinched from her touch and broke their kiss.
“I can think of a dozen reasons why I shouldn’t be doing this with you,” he said, his voice rough and strained.
“And I’m feeling one, big reason why you should.”

And it really has a bit of everything without frying your brain. There’s rock and roll, an abundance of sex, some real emotion, a yummy bit of BDSM, romance, action and a fantastic HEA! I devoured it in twenty four hours and found it a really quick, easy read.

“Right there,” he said. “That’s what I’m talking about.”
Lacey shook her head. “I’m not following.”
“I’ve never felt anything this powerful,” he whispered. “You make me feel things I have no right to feel.”

Flynn is the perfect hero. He’s hot as all get out, sensitive, dominant, multi-talented and pretty handy with a pair of handcuffs 😉

“You and I together could be dangerous.”
“Combustible, maybe,” she said. “But I doubt dangerous.”

I wasn’t sure about Lacey at first, but by the end of the book, I really liked her! She might be a rock and roll, world famous, superstar, but she was a normal, insecure, woman, in need of some TLC. And Flynn, duly provides.

“You promised me forever, Flynn Beckett. I want my forever.”

I think this book could be a big hit and I’d really love to see it on more of your TBR lists!
